As you know, we, together with Novocure have been running a Caregiver Nomination Contest for the last few weeks in honor of November being National Caregiver Awareness Month. So, today the first day of this very important month, we’d like to announce our WINNER!
Christi Estes

Christi’s husband, Rob, was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma in 2013. Since then, Christi has not only been tirelessly caring for and fighting for her family; she has been selflessly and instrumentally involved in the formation of a 5013c as a result of a spiritual stirring in the heart of her husband. Their, Can’t Never Could foundation was born out of a new Christ-Centered and passionate desire to purposefully help individuals and groups facing adversity and suffering through personal battles.
It is our honor to share with you Christi’s nominations:
“Christi has been the rock in her husband’s fight with cancer. Without her love, support, and belief in God her family would be lost.”
By Sara Keith
“Of course the news of brain cancer to this young couple and their children was devastating. Their attitude, however, from the day of diagnosis has been remarkable. Both Rob and Christi set out to fight and defeat this terrible disease. Chris doubled down on her love for her husband and set about to put a smile on her face, to support and look after him, look after her children and help others going through medical crises. I am inspired by her faith in God and her ability to live in the moment to bring her family peace, love and joy. She is loving, strong, determined and stayed on the course with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God Bless her and her family”

“Long before I became ill with Grade 4 Glioblastoma my wife Christi cared so much for others she felt the call to quit her dream job and start writing a book. The title of this book which she never had time to finish was “Unexpected Gifts, Celebrating Children with Life’s Challenges.” Christi has a heart for service unlike any other person I have met. On August 16th, 2013, I was given 12-15 months to live. I thank God that He allows me to suffer well and has blessed me with a wonderful wife and the time to witness my Son and Daughter enjoy their high school years. Without the care and love of Christi to hold this family together, not to mention handle all of the details and organization of the 5013c we founded to help people suffering from brain cancer or many of life’s other challenges.

We are honored by all of the nominations received over the last few weeks. Your inspirational stories have been moving and reconfirming of our organizations intent to bridge the gap between the newly diagnosed and access to advanced treatments and clinical trials.
Christi will receive two round trip tickets to Arizona, hotel stay at the Fairmont Princess Hotel along with two event tickets to the 2016 Society of NeuroOncology Symposium later this month.
On behalf of Novocure and the End Brain Cancer Initiative, we thank you all for the heart you put into nominating your Caregiver. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for featured stories on each of the nominations received!
