Mission:
To enhance cancer patient outcomes by expanding FDA-approved treatment modalities and fueling research in the pharma/bio/life sciences, device & diagnostic industries and by closing the existing GAP from initial diagnosis to IMMEDIATE AND EXPANDED ACCESS to specialists, researchers, neuro-surgeons, advanced & innovative treatments, clinical trials and critical care with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes through updating and improving WHO & NCCN Physician Guidelines and clinical practices related to Standard of Care for cancer patients, including brain cancer patients.
Vision:
All patients diagnosed with cancer, including a mass in the brain, will immediately be empowered with knowledge and referred to brain cancer specialists, such as neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, researchers, etc. AND enrolled into clinical trials very early in the treatment process with the expectation and goal being that the patient will be able to effectively manage and treat their cancer as a chronic disease. For brain cancer patients, as current Standard of Care for this disease is not effective, patients will immediately be screened for the most effective, per science, clinical trial and/or advanced treatment option and they will have immediate access and immediately be enrolled, thus increasing their survivorship outcome as well as fueling research leading to increased FDA-approved treatment options that ALL have access to.
Need:
To Celebrate 20 Years and to evolve into a larger organization with INCREASED IMPACT in policy and to the cancer community, the End Brain Cancer Initiative has its sights set on transforming from a Board of Staff to a Board of Governors. The first step in this process is to develop a Board of Directors outside of Staff that are connected and who can bring in the necessary Operational Funding and Program Funding required to hire additional Staff so that our Current Board can operate in a Board of Governors capacity. To help EBCI raise an additional $500,000 annually for staff, please send your Resume and a Cover Letter explaining how you can help create capacity and sustainability for EBCI to our Chair & President, Dellann Elliott Mydland, at Dellann@EndBrainCancer.org.
