As we near a September deadline for Congress to renew crucial FDA funds that support patients across the world, the EndBrainCancer Initiative (EBCI) and I urge swift passage of PDUFA reauthorization (re-funding). PDUFA leads to quicker patient access to drugs/treatment options. Join EBCI and #ScienceWorks to move this VITAL legislation forward as we don’t want any patient/family to have to WAIT FOR A CURE!
The prescription drug act (PDUFA) reduced drug application review times, which lead to new drugs for patients, by the FDA by half and shaved an average two years off the wait time for “priority medicines.” Rapid deployment of today’s effective and innovative COVID-19 vaccines is proof that this policy infrastructure is still vital in maintaining our health and well-being.
