The Elliott Foundation would like to share the 2012 Brain Tumor Support Group from The University of Washington with our community. This support group is open to brain tumor patients, loved ones, and caregivers alike. Attending a support group can be a very helpful and valuable addition to anyone who is facing a brain tumor diagnosis or caregiving for someone who is. We highly recommend finding a support group in your community, if you are not in the Seattle area. If you cannot find a Brain Tumor Support Group in your area, there are several online support groups for the Brain Tumor Community that we recommend below.
(Online support group for many different types of cancers, but there is a large and
loyal following in the Brain Cancer support group area on this site)
Please contact us if we can be of any help!
The University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical treatments for patients with brain tumors.
As members of the Brain Tumor Support Group (BTSG) we realize you may have other concerns about how this illness may affect your family, your job, or your ability to carry out other daily activities. You are not alone. The BTSG, comprised of brain tumor patients, survivors, families, friends and caregivers meets regularly at the UWMC and can be helpful in dealing with these concerns.
The BTSG provides the opportunity to share experiences and to socialize with others in similar situations. A Brain Tumor patient/facilitator assists the group, provides information, and along with the members of the BTSG answers questions regarding their experience with treatments, medications, available resources and other important issues. Guest speakers covering a variety of subjects are frequent participants.
We invite you, your family, your friends and caregivers to participate in our group. Please come and join us!
