NATIONAL RECOGNITION!

EBCI'S ANNUAL

HOPE AWARD

Each May, for over a decade, the EndBrainCancer Initiative, in Partnership with Novocure, has presented the HOPE award to brain cancer patients who deeply inspire us with their courage and story. We established this award to highlight exceptional people who have done exceptional things during their brain cancer journey all while inspiring others.

2025 Award Recipient

Meet Peter Mang

Peter was diagnosed with GBM in 2018. Surgeons removed the tumor, but Peter required speech therapy for aphasia. He persevered and over time was able to speak and read. However, he had a recurrence of the cancer in the middle of the Covid epidemic. Peter entered a clinical trial that led to a successful treatment for his tumor.

Peter's wife Katie nominated him for the HOPE Award. Katie stands beside Peter in his cancer journey and has helped him in finding doctors and treatments. Together they have founded the "Go for the Good" foundation to assist other cancer patients.

"We just have to go with the good because there's always going to be something bad with things. I mean, to be honest, but there's always going to be good things. And that's where I see hope is there's always something good, no matter what you what you see."

-- Peter Mang

He's often online connecting other patients with resources and chat groups through our nonprofit, helping others and paying it forward.  ...  I just I don't know anyone who's been through so much and continues to choose to act in a manner that is not just good for himself but for everyone around him.
