Brain Food #2: Blueberries
Blueberries stimulate the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain to boost concentration and memory.
We know cooking and preparing these brain foods may be a difficult task among all the other things happening in your busy day. We wanted to provide an easy and simple recipe to help you start preparing your brain foods today! Review the recipe we’ve put together below:
Power Breakfast: Blueberry Kefir Smoothie (Serves 1)
Ingredients
1 fresh or frozen banana, peeled and cut into bite-sized chunks
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
6 ounces kefir
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds or chia seeds
1 teaspoon honey, or to taste
1/2 cup ice cubes (optional)
Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender. Pour into a tall glass and drink immediately. Each serving: 210 cal, 5g fat (2.5g sat), 15mg chol, 45mg sodium, 38g carb, 7g fiber, 5g protein
